moa home
When renovating this 75m2 bungalow on Moa Ave on Waiheke Island the focus was on creating space and light.
To achieve this we kept within a tight palette of colours, playing solely with whites & creams and letting the natural sunlight which pours in from all directions, giving the illusion of high ceilings and large spaces. The careful placement of mirrors reflecting off each other also help to create the illusion of space throughout the home.
The living area sports a beautiful wood-look tiled floor from the Tile Warehouse which is indestructible – perfect for a busy couple and their active dog Riley, and the use of hexagonal wall tiles in the showers of both bathrooms with the herringbone white tile in the kitchen, add texture and interest to the calm, simple spaces. The gorgeous white shutters and white painted original flooring in the bedroom seamlessley flow out to the spacious verandah, with hanging egg chair.
Airy and cool in the Summer, it also has been installed with under-floor heating from Warm-Up and a cute Studio wood-burner, so the home will be cosy in the cooler months as well. The kitchen by ‘The Kitchen Maker’ in Henderson is simple and refined. The elegant white tap from Robertson matches the white Smeg gas hob, which along with the stunning benchtop and crisp white cabinetry creates no visual disruption.
The inner workings of the kitchen are packed with top-of-the-line hardware from Hettich, which helps the small kitchen make excellent use of every available shelf, cupboard, and corner.
