Our Designer by the Hour service gives you access to an experienced Yellowfox designer for personalised advice, ideas and solutions tailored to your space. Whether you need help with colours, finishes, furniture layouts, product selections or simply a second opinion, we can provide as much or as little support as you need. This service is available exclusively through our Auckland, Hamilton & Tauranga Studios.

Designer by the Hour is focused on providing personalised, one-on-one design advice and guidance during your booked time. You will leave the session with ideas, recommendations and practical solutions to take forward yourself.

This is an advice-based service and does not include formal documentation, specifications, renders or meeting notes. Where helpful, your designer may sketch over plans or create quick doodles to communicate ideas during the session.

Space Planning & Layouts. We can review your plans and offer our professional opinion on how to make the most of your space. This can include suggesting alternative layouts, furniture placement and practical solutions for tricky spaces.

Colours, Finish & Materials. Bring us your ideas or pre-selected finishes and we can provide advice on how they work together, suggest alternative options where we feel there may be a better fit, and recommend showrooms or suppliers that align with your vision.

Kitchen & Bathrooms. We can offer advice on your proposed layouts, cabinetry, fixtures, fittings and product selections. If you are unsure about a particular choice, we can suggest alternative products or point you towards suppliers and showrooms worth exploring.

Furniture, Styling & Product Selection. We can provide a second opinion on furniture, lighting, rugs, artwork, accessories and other products you are considering. We can suggest alternatives that better suit your style, space or budget, as well as recommend showrooms or places to explore further.

Yes. If you need further guidance, you can book additional Designer by the Hour sessions as required.
Sessions are held at our Yellowfox studio in Onehunga, Auckland. Our studio is a great place to work through your ideas together, with access to a range of material, colour and finish samples that we can use to help guide your decisions. You are also welcome to bring along your own samples, plans or product selections.
Our Design by the Hour service starts with a two-hour consultation for $500 +GST. This gives you dedicated time with one of our interior designers to discuss your project, explore ideas and receive professional guidance tailored to your needs.
